CFC, the specialist insurance provider, pioneer in emerging risk and market leader in cyber, today announces the expansion of its European cyber underwriting team with the appointment of Veronica Jimenez Romero and Damien Barthez as Senior Underwriters, alongside Guillaume Griffith as Underwriting Assistant, further strengthening its investment in local cyber expertise and broker support across Continental Europe.
The appointments form part of CFC Europe's continued growth strategy and reflect the business's commitment to building a truly local presence across the region. As cyber risk continues to rise across Europe, the expanded team will help brokers access specialist expertise, navigate increasingly complex exposures and drive cyber insurance adoption in a market that remains significantly underinsured.
Led by Ilaria Salvato and headquartered in Spain, the European cyber underwriting team has rapidly established a strong local presence across key European markets. These latest appointments further enhance CFC's ability to support brokers and clients in local languages and in line with regional market practices, ensuring a tailored service across the continent.
Joining as Senior Underwriter, Veronica Jimenez Romero joins CFC with more than a decade of cyber insurance experience, having previously spent over 15 years building and leading the cyber portfolio at Aon Spain as Head of Cyber. She will play a key role in supporting the continued growth of CFC's cyber business across Southern Europe and the wider Continental European market.
Damien Barthez joins CFC as Senior Underwriter, bringing specialist experience across financial lines and cyber insurance, having previously worked as a cyber broker at Marsh France. He is joined by Guillaume Griffith, who joins as Underwriting Assistant, supporting the team’s underwriting activity across the region. Together, they bring valuable local expertise and multilingual capabilities that will further strengthen CFC's support for brokers across France and other French-speaking territories.
These appointments demonstrate our long-term commitment to the European market and our belief in the value of having local expertise on the ground. Andrew Prendergast, Head of Global Corporate Tech & Cyber
“Europe represents one of the most significant opportunities for cyber insurance growth globally, yet many organisations remain underinsured against an increasingly challenging threat landscape,” said Andrew Prendergast, Head of Global Corporate Tech & Cyber. “These appointments demonstrate our long-term commitment to the European market and our belief in the value of having local expertise on the ground. By continuing to invest in experienced cyber specialists across the region, we're ensuring brokers have access to the support, insight and underwriting expertise they need to grow their cyber portfolios with confidence.”
Commenting on the appointments, Ilaria Salvato said: “We're building a truly European cyber team that reflects the diverse markets we serve. Veronica, Damien and Guillaume each bring exceptional market knowledge, valuable local expertise and a deep understanding of the needs of brokers in their respective markets. Together, they strengthen our ability to support brokers in their own language, operate in line with local market expectations and help more businesses access the protection and services cyber insurance can provide.”
The appointments reinforce CFC's commitment to expanding its European footprint and investing in local talent, ensuring brokers across the continent have access to specialist cyber expertise, market-leading services and dedicated support as demand for cyber insurance continues to grow.
