CFC Cyber Masterclass is a video learning series designed to teach you everything you need to know about cyber insurance and the cyber landscape. Spanning four modules of four to six videos, the series is broken down into easily digestible topics. Watch in any order and at your own pace. The platform will remember where you left off, so you can pick up whenever it suits you.

Yes, insureds can watch Cyber Masterclass, although content is built specifically for brokers. We’d recommend dropping us an email if you have a particular client that would like to watch.
Each module consists of four to six videos, each around 10 minutes long. In total, each module lasts about one hour, meaning the whole series can be completed in four hours. Accreditation is approved on the module level, so you’ll receive hours/points per module you complete.
Module one: Cyber insurance from the very beginning to the present day. You’ll explore why cybercrime emerged, how it's evolved and how today’s insurers today are not just responding to incidents but proactively working to prevent them.
Module two: Common policy nuances, business interruption and reputational harm, breaking them down in depth—from how they're triggered to what they cover. You’ll also learn about social engineering, one of the most common forms of cyber attack, and how an effective incident response and claims team works to mitigate these sorts of incidents.
Module three: Put what you've learned in previous modules into practice. Here, you’ll get to the core of why businesses need cyber insurance, plus tangible examples, tools and selling techniques that will help you go to market with knowledge and confidence.
Module four: Cyber security tools and common underwriter controls. To explain these simply, we've broken controls down into layers: perimeter, email, network, endpoint and data security, before ending the module with proactive cyber attack capabilities—given to every CFC insured as standard.
The series has approved accreditation for each module by the following bodies:
UK & Ireland – Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) & the Irish Insurance Institute (III)
Canada – Alberta Insurance Council, RIBO, Insurance Council of British Columbia & Insurance Council of Manitoba
Australia & New Zealand – NIBA & ANZIIF
The application process across the USA is ongoing, but approval is being submitted for the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin.
Each module lasts around one hour and is accredited individually, meaning you can get up to one hour or one point per module. In some regions this is slightly less, with 0.75 of an hour/ 0.75points per credit.
Cyber Masterclass is accredited at the module level. When you watch all videos in a module and pass the final exam, you’ll receive your email certificate. Depending on your region, you’ll then need to submit this to your accrediting body.
After completing a module, you’ll receive an automatic email, and the accredited certificate is the email itself. Simply print out the email, selecting “Print to PDF”, and you’ll be able save the email as a PDF to save or submit to your accredited body.
The email certificate should land within 24 hours of passing your final exam. Please email cybermarketing@cfc.com if that doesn’t happen or if your certificate is incorrect.
Your certificate given by the Broker Learning platform and found in “My certificates” is for your own internal use and to share online, whether that be LinkedIn or any other social platform.
Yes, that’s possible. When you register, add the details for your primary region and you’ll receive your certificate when you pass the test. After, email at cybermarketing@cfc.com with the name and licence number of your secondary region, and we can process that manually.
Yes, to officially complete the module and get your certificates, you do need to pass the 12-question exam at the end of the module.
The exam is passed at 80%, or a score of at least 10/12.
Absolutely, you can take the test as many times as you need to pass. If you’re finding it too challenging, please let us know.
Yes, you’ll receive a Cyber Masterclass certificate from the platform to download and share online. Your CE/CPD certificate, if you require one, will be emailed to you separately.
Yes! Cyber Masterclass is entirely on demand and self-paced. You can watch as little or as much as you’d like at a time. The platform will remember your progress to pick up where you left off next time you login.
Absolutely! We encourage users to come back to re-watch videos whenever they need a quick reminder. You can access all modules from the Videos page: brokerlearning.cfc.com/masterclass-modules
The series is self-paced, so you can learn at your own pace. You’ll just need to complete the test to receive your certificate and CE/CPD credit.
