CFC, the specialist insurance provider and pioneer in emerging risk, today announced the expansion of its Technology and Media offering in Australia.

With the launch of on shore underwriting and locally traded Technology and Media products, Australian brokers now benefit from a broader choice of product options, including products now underwritten locally by CFC and the long standing CFC global wordings they know well, all backed by local expertise.

This increased choice also gives brokers greater confidence that CFC can support them in handling their complex and emerging risks.

The enhanced proposition is supported by the appointment of Stella Gilson as National Manager – Tech and Media, who returns to Sydney from CFC London to lead local underwriting and further strengthen broker relationships across the region.

Gilson has served as Media & Technology underwriter at CFC, based in London, for the past 12 years. She has more than two decades of experience spanning underwriting and broking across professional lines, and joined CFC in 2014 from Oxford Insurance Brokers Limited.

Gilson’s appointment provides true boots on the ground capability and ensures brokers have immediate access to specialist support in the same time zone.

Commenting on the launch, Gilson said: “Australia’s technology and creative sectors are thriving, and brokers are telling us they need clearer, more responsive support when placing Technology and Media risks."

As the digital landscape evolves with escalating cyber threats, increased AI adoption and rising regulatory expectations, our expanded offering gives brokers the flexibility they need, backed by both local and global expertise. Stella Gilson , National Manager – Tech and Media

Key features include:

  • Flexible placement options, with choice of locally underwritten Technology and Media products or established CFC global wordings
  • Multi-line protection, including Technology PI, Cyber, Media Liability and Products & Services Liability
  • Affirmative AI cover for Technology and Cyber
  • Fast digital trading for Technology via Connect
  • Local underwriting support for same day decisions and closer broker partnership

Gilson continued: “This is another step in simplifying the trading experience for Australian brokers, ensuring they have the choice to access the service they need. Brokers can now access both locally underwritten and familiar CFC coverage on shore, supported by the same specialist expertise behind every decision.”
