CFC, the specialist insurance provider, pioneer in emerging risk and market leader in cyber, today announces the appointment of Gemma Hicks as Cyber Development Manager, Australia, further strengthening our investment in local cyber expertise and broker-facing development capabilities across the Australian market.

As part of CFC’s strategy to expand its local presence and support cyber growth, the appointment reflects our continued investment in Australia, a market where cyber insurance remains significantly underpenetrated despite growing demand and exposure to cyber risk.

Joining CFC from Coalition, Hicks brings extensive cyber insurance experience and strong market credibility. In her new role, she will work closely with brokers across Australia to help simplify cyber risk conversations, support cyber insurance adoption and ensure brokers have access to dedicated technical expertise that helps them confidently engage clients.

“Cyber remains one of the most underpenetrated opportunities in the Australian insurance market, and closing that gap requires more than great products – it requires people on the ground who can educate, challenge and support brokers every day,” said Lindsey Maher, Head of Global Cyber Development. “Gemma’s appointment is a clear signal of how seriously we’re investing in Australia. By bringing recognized talent into the business and continuing to build a truly local cyber development team, we’re strengthening our ability to support brokers and help drive greater cyber awareness and adoption across the market.”

Commenting on her appointment, Gemma Hicks said: “I’m excited to be joining CFC at a time when awareness of cyber risk continues to grow across the Australian market. CFC has established itself as a leader in cyber insurance through its combination of specialist underwriting expertise, proactive cyber services and commitment to supporting brokers."

I’m looking forward to working closely with our broker partners to help make cyber conversations more accessible, support portfolio growth and ensure more businesses can benefit from the protection cyber insurance provides. Gemma Hicks, Cyber Development Manager, Australia

“We’re seeing strong momentum in cyber across Australia, and scaling sustainably means strengthening our presence on the ground,” added Anita Lane, Managing Director of CFC Australia. “Gemma brings significant experience and market credibility, and her appointment further reinforces our commitment to investing in local expertise to support our broker partners and capture the growth opportunity in this largely untapped market.”
