The update forms part of CFC’s wider programme to embed affirmative AI coverage across its portfolio, ensuring customers have clear, explicit policy language that reflects its growing use.

To address this challenge, CFC has introduced affirmative AI language within its global eHealth product and its US Professions policy, with equivalent endorsements available across Professions policies globally. The enhancements provide clarity around coverage where AI forms part of an insured's business model and contributes to a claim.

In healthcare and life sciences, AI is increasingly being used to improve patient outcomes, increase efficiency and accelerate research. CFC's eHealth product now provides affirmative clarity around a range of AI-related exposures, including losses arising from AI errors, bias, hallucinations and failures involving technologies such as ambient scribes and clinical trial support software. CFC's full suite of Healthcare package products has been upgraded to include affirmative AI cover.

Artificial intelligence is becoming embedded throughout the healthcare and life sciences ecosystem, helping organisations enhance the delivery of care and accelerate research. Ellie Saunders, Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences, CFC

“Insurance policies must step up and clarify intent of coverage when it comes to AI related loss. Our eHealth policy does exactly that, affirming our position where AI is used within an insured’s business model that contributes to, or causes, loss.”

The expansion also includes CFC's Professions product, reflecting the growing use of AI across professional services firms. As organisations increasingly incorporate AI into client-facing activities and day-to-day operations, the updated wording removes uncertainty around how professional liability coverage responds to AI-related exposures.

AI can help organisations automate tasks, improve efficiency, enhance service delivery and improve the quality and accuracy of their work. However, as adoption increases, so too do the risks. Ed Cole, Professional Liability, Healthcare and Life Science Development Leader, CFC

"Without the right governance, risk management and insurance protection in place, businesses may face significant exposure. By introducing affirmative AI coverage across our Professions policy, we're providing greater clarity around how cover responds to AI-related exposures."

With these latest wordings, CFC now provides affirmative cover for AI-related risks across media, intellectual property, financial services, cyber, healthcare and professional services. This portfolio-wide approach ensures clients have clear, relevant protection against the critical business risks they face today and those emerging tomorrow.
